How far back does the MOT history go?
The DVSA holds MOT records going back to 2005 for most vehicles. Our free check shows every test result it has on file, including passes, failures, advisories and recorded mileage.
What if my car has no MOT history?
Newly registered vehicles under three years old do not require an MOT in the UK, so they will not have a test history. The check will still return full DVLA vehicle details such as make, model, colour and tax status.
Can I check an MOT without a V5C log book?
Yes. All you need is the vehicle registration (number plate). You do not need the V5C, VIN, or any other document.
